Moving Meditation

Tai Chi classes and workshopsWhat attracts a lot of people to Tai Chi is the promise and possibility of quieting the mind and the stress of their lives. I would like to share a principle of meditation that can be proven and practiced anywhere at anytime with or without the eyes closed and with or without any past experience of meditation.Ready?When you are aware, you are not thinking and when you are thinking, you are not aware.Let'ssay you walk up to a door,if you are thinking about all of the places you need to go and things you need to do ,you will have no awareness of passing through the door .If on the other hand,you bring your awareness to the color,texture and weight of the door and the act of opening and closing the door,you will not be thinking.Why should you care whether you are thinking or aware?There are a lot of reasons; the reduction of accident proneness in your life,improving relationships,stress reduction,and anything that you plan to do will be done a lot more effectively if it is done with awareness or it's cousin; attention.
What makes Tai Chi an effective meditative tool is that it trains awareness while giving the mind something interesting to focus on .At Roswell Tai Chi,we train the mind through the body and the breath.It's much easier than training the mind directly.Try to stop your mind for one full minute. Exactly...
Three elements that effect each other are the tension/relaxation of the body,the quality of the breath,and the state of mind.Whenever you change one of these elements,the other two are  automatically  in harmony. The practice of Tai Chi is an investment into the improvement of our state of mind;the only thing we truly own...

It is important to have good foot function and for this reason it is useful for athletes to spend as much time as possible barefoot. Walking on sand is very good. Training should be conducted in very light simple shoes. Racing flats from the Runners Shop are much better than joggers for training in.

Well said! It's true that when anyone got aware then he thinks and as he thinks so it's seen that he is aware. Nicely described the entire consciousness and it’s importance to be fit and healthy. I try to maintain a short term meditation session everyday and I know it's truly an amazing way of healing (both mentally and physically). Thanks.
