How Tai Chi improves the knees.No Description
One of the best physical rehabilitative aspects of Tai Chi is the
work it does on the knees.I have witnessed miraculous recovery of knee related injuries with the practice of Tai Chi.There are some logical reasons for this.As a low impact exercise, it builds,re builds,and then builds again the endurance,strength,balance and flexibility of the entire leg in a way that is gentle on the body and the joints.As you practice Tai Chi you will be learning the most efficient ways to move your body.Sometimes Tai Chi can be a humbling experience because it creates a re learning of some of the most basic actions like standing and walking.
One of the specific muscles that Tai Chi develops is the Vastus Medialis located in the inner quadriceps just above the knee.This is sometimes referred to as the running and jumping muscle.If you slowly move through the process of preparing and then executing a jump,you will feel this muscle being activated.It is a very important muscle in high performance athletics.One way that Tai Chi helps knee related issues is through strengthening this muscle and reducing your time spent distributing your weight on to your knees.This way you can learn a more effective way to move about while creating less stress on the knees.
